Sometimes people use their energy to go against someone or something instead of helping themselves. What could the people have gained by filling in the wells which Abraham’s servants had dug?

Discuss with your children:
- Why do people destroy sandcastles or building block towers that other people have created?
- How does the person feel who destroys?
- How does the person feel who built the creation?
- Was there a purpose in destroying the other person’s work?
Creative Thinking
- See how many positive reasons you can think of for filling in a well.
- Can you think of 10 reasons why people destroy the work of others?
- Are these valid reasons?
Homeschooling Projects
- Build a tall tower from building blocks, playing cards or some other material around your house.
- Leave it for 5 minutes and then destroy it. How does this make you feel? or
- Leave it and see how long before someone knocks it down. How does this make you feel? Ask the person why they knocked it down and how it made them feel.
- People used their energy to fill in Abraham’s wells. Research how the body makes energy and how we use it up.
- Write a slogan to get people to use their energy in a positive way.
- Write a story about someone doing something or making something positive and another person coming and destroying what the other person did.
- Research why people dug wells and how they were built.
- Make a model of a well.
- Write a journal entry for Isaac when he found out that the people had filled in the wells that his father Abraham had dug.
