Bible Talk

Discuss Belief:

  • What is belief?
  • Why do we sometimes not believe what people tell us?
  • Why does God mention that He is the God of the forefathers of the children of Israel?
  • God says that the children of Israel will believe that He spoke to  Moses after Moses throws down his staff and it becomes a snake. Why does God need to give a sign that He spoke to Moses?

Creative Thinking:

  • Why does God mention that He is the God of the forefathers of the children of Israel?
  • Why do people believe in different things?
  • Why would God pick Moses staff turning into a snake as a sign that He spoke to Moses?

Homeschooling Activities:

  • If you needed a sign today that God talked to you what would it be? Why?
  • Why would God say that He was the God of the children of Israel and also say that He was the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
  • Many times in the Bible it is written, “the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and God of Jacob”. If this is the same God why list Him separately as the God of each one?
  • God made Moses staff turn into a snake. If you were one of the children of Israel at that time, do you think that the staff turning into a snake would convince you that God spoke to Moses?
  • Why was it important that the children of Israel believed that God spoke to Moses?
  • Do you think that the staff turning into a snake gave Moses more confidence than he had before? Why?
  • Why would God not just make the children of Israel believe Moses?
