There are times when we should speak up.

In the Book of Genesis Noah did not say anything to prevent the flood.

What Did Noah Say?

Almost everyone has heard the story of Noah’s ark from the Book of Genesis. But what did people hear from Noah? Noah did act – he built the ark, he got his family and the animals into the ark. He must have taken care of the animals. But what did Noah say to the people while he was building the ark?

In Genesis 6:5 we are told, “And Noah did according to everything that God had commanded him.” That is more than I can say for most of us, and yet I have to ask, “Did Noah do enough?” Did Noah try to get the people around him to change their ways? Did Noah speak to God and try to have him stop the flood?

Do Actions Always Speak Louder Than Words?

We are told that actions speak louder than words, yet this time I am not sure. Yes, Noah did follow God’s instructions. Yes, Noah did make the ark in front of everyone to see. But did he do enough?

Noah In Action

Have your children write a speech or make a commercial to express what they think Noah could have said to convince the people to change how they acted. Have them check other ideas of ways to rewrite the story of Noah with him being proactive to save the world.
